Family Tree

I always told my parents growing up that I wish my brother had been a girl because having a twin sister would have been SO much more fun!  Now that I'm an adult I think I was actually pretty lucky to be the only girl.  AND then I got married and I got my wish - I got the best Sister-in-law ever!  Lucky me, she doesn't even wear my clothes, read my diary or steal my make-up.  :-)

Anyway, I got the pattern for this Family Tree from her.  I had a blast doing all of the family history research, Of course she had already done their side of the family so that made it even easier.   Turns out I can trace a branch on my Dad's side back to some type of royalty.  I told my Husband he can now refer to me as Princess Kati, he didn't buy it....... weird.

The tree goes back 5 generations.  I made one for my Parents and my Grandmother - they LOVED it!

Card Idea

I can't remember what inspired me to start making pop-up cards, but they are a blast!  Here is a photo tutorial for making pop-up cards.  They are so easy but extra special!

Here is what I did...

I started with 2 pieces of cardstock.  The one on the left is a normal card size (5 1/2in by 8 1/2in), The one on the right will be the inside piece and it's is slightly smaller (5in x 8in.)  I folded both pieces in half and made 2 cuts in from the fold on the inside cardstock.  Then pushed the cut piece to the inside and it forms the base for whatever you want to be your pop up.   Then I put the two pieces together.

I used the Cupcake Builder Punch (Item #121087) to punch out my cupcake at used my tape runner to glue my cupcake to the pop up piece.

Then I decorated the inside of the card with the Create a Cupcake stamp set (Item #121915)

And I decorated the Outside :-)

BZB Stampers Advent Calendar

Last Sunday I got to attend the BZB Stampers Advent Calendar class.  This is a group that my upline's upline's upline runs... or somthing like that.  She Rocks!  She is kind of my Stampin' Up hero.   So I am considering doing a class for my stampers to make this.   It is SO stinkin' cute.

Mom's Club Sneak Peak

I love my friends!  I guess it is a sign that I am truly an adult when I start thinking about how wonderful my friends are.  I have this friend, she's awesome, she always makes me laugh and she just "gets me."  You know what I mean, the kind of friend that seems to know exactly what you are thinking all the time.  She is also a killer mom to two beautiful baby (well one isn't really a baby anymore...) girls.  AND  she is in a mom's club.  I love it.  This group of mom's get together on Wednesday nights and all try new things.  Lucky me, next week they are coming to my house to make Christmas Cards!   So, here is a sneak peak of one of the Christmas cards we will be making.
